We will meet at :: Avalon North :: at 9am, and aim to return by 1pm

We will be carpooling
We will give an update on conditions the day before the hike, but as always, be prepared with:
- 2 liters of water
- Snacks
- Warm Weather Gear (extra hat and gloves socks)
- Hand warmer's recommended if it's super cold
- Headlamp
(your guides will have compass, map, and first aid kits)

The following will be recommended based on trail conditions the day before (you will be notified):
- MicroSpikes (defintiely need, the cheap ones from a hardware store will do for this hike)
- Gaiters (nice to have)
- Snowshoes (possible)

See the Hike Safe page for more information:

We have some limited gear to lend on a first come first served basis

After the hike we will stop at the cutest country store ever with the best hot chocolate, and lunch if you would like to purchase.

Your guide Dori Bergman is an Outdoor Education Masters Degree student at UNH. She is also an ::Avalon North:: resident artist and paints outdoor art (The Event Image is her original work). Dori was recently invited for an artist residency at the AMC Highland Center in February. She is all around wonderful and will accept snacks in lieu of tips. She really really loves snacks.

A note about winter conditions, they can change rapidly and be terrible. We choose mountains with most of the trail below tree line and therefore fairly protected. We will advise you of weather conditions the night before, and you can make your own decision. Dori and her assistant guide, Jocelyn, will be hiking more or less no matter the conditions. In the case of heavy rain or extreme conditions and your willingness to partake, you will be required to bring proper all weather gear and must pass a gear inspection before joining us. Review the hike safe list thoroughly.
