Alyssa Pittera
The salty rose :: a pepita mylk co.

Founder of The Salty Rose, the OG Pepita Mylk Lady!  A full-time kitchen witch, avid garden enthusiast and part-time artist her interests range from herbal alchemy and creating delicious alternative foods and beverages, to painting with a range of mediums and sewing.  A New Hampshire native who has spent the last 10 years exploring the west coast, Hawaii, and Colorado with some international travel bits along the way.  She draws her inspiration from veggies and herbs, animals, nature, and the human form and psyche.  Happily setting roots back in the Northeast, you can find her artwork locally in cafes.  Come summer she is hard to pull out of the garden, and often is scouring the forests for the next tasty mushrooms to emerge.

Delighted to have a room of her own (nestled within a beautiful bigger room that she shares with other artistic, passionate, down to earth women), Mary Downes has several creative passions. Primary among them is writing. With one novel finished and another one on the way, Mary wishes she enjoyed marketing herself as much as she enjoys storytelling. Part of a monthly writers’ group, Mary may start up something in Dover as well (let me know if you are interested!) When the mood strikes, Mary also loves to watercolor, bead jewelry, and figure out ways to make the world a more peaceful place. which for the past year has included volunteering as chair of HAVEN’s board of directors. HAVEN works to end violence against women and other victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in the Seacoast region.

Dori Bergman

Sometimes I feel scared and confused, angry and frustrated, sad and hopeless. Like this great big GIGANTIC world is closing in on me. And I am so small… But then I paint. Because the canvas can be anything I want it to be. Do you know how this feels? I fill my carefully, handcrafted universe with the wildest of dreams. One day I will create a magical outdoor program for young girls with anxiety and depression. I’m going to call it Woodswoman.

For now, I have a bachelor's degree in Wilderness Therapy- where my passion lies not in the outdoors but using it to help people. I am currently pursuing a master’s in Outdoor Education at the University of New Hampshire. But when I'm not taking classes or exploring the beautiful white mountains, you can find me painting about what inspires me most: women in the wilderness.
